Students are assigned a counselor according to alphabetical arrangement. The same counselor will service each student and parent for a term of three years.

Our counseling department at Beekmantown Middle School offers a wide variety of services to address all students’ academic, career and personal/social needs. School counselors serve as a liaison between many people and services involved in the student's educational journey. Our counseling department here at Beekmantown Middle School follows a comprehensive, developmental counseling program that incorporates students, educators, parents, guardians, and the community.

School counselors are able to provide academic, career, and/or personal/social services through one-on-one counseling, group counseling, referral to community agencies, class scheduling and planning, and college and career planning.
One-on-One and group counseling is available to all students during school hours and by appointment to help with any academic, career and personal/social needs. Students are encouraged to meet with their counselors on a continually basis for support in their academic journey.

Counselors can also assist in referring students to community agencies. Counselors are in continual contact with multiple professionals throughout the community and can help ease the transition, if need be. Some of the community agencies include mental health services, department of social services, extracurricular activities or groups, family counseling, support groups, etc. Please feel free to speak to your counselor about the different agencies available to you.
